THERE AIN’T NO HALFWAY

This is my story.

IN THIS MAN

BRAD CHURCHILL

Dropping In November On Streaming Platforms Everywhere! Over the past few months I've written songs about life's little moments and how we respond to or celebrate them. This was arguably my most difficult task: writing a song about me. After all, we're all angels in our own minds right? LOL. I wrote it, threw my voice into it a different way, and then ran it by people I could trust. Their opinion was "This is 100% you." So... Welcome to the Brad story.

One More Goodbye

Launching November 11th! My Mother seemed to have a penchant for dates. She was born on December 25th, and sadly on November 11, 2008 she passed away from a short battle with lung cancer. She had many "Mom-ism's" that have helped form the person I am today. "Where there's a will, there's a way." and "If you don't want my honest opinion, don't ask for it." were two of my favourites. I have written this song to appeal to a broader audience, but the heart of it comes from memories of my Mother. Rest In peace Mom.

Can I Live Inside Your Phone?

Dropping in November On Streaming Platforms Everywhere! When I was growing up, dinner time was an opportunity to connect with my family. We shared the day's wins and losses and in general, connected (or at least tried to) with the rest of the family. Today is SO different. Where has common courtesy and dinner etiquette gone? Put your fucking phone away or I'll throw it in the soup pot!

Unc's Got Rizz

What the fuck is Skibidi???? I seriously had fun writing this song! The irony of an older guy writing a song using today's slang to describe how he doesn't understand today's slang. I love it! Oh... and I don't watch Golden Girls. EVER. It sounded more universal than telling people what I really do with my time. Just sayin'.

Five Star View

This is my personal road-trip anthem. I'm done work, headed to the mountains, and am looking forward to spending a couple of days camped beside a pristine, isolated mountain lake. This is me in a nutshell!

WHO IS BRAD?

I guess I produce songs now.

I live in Calgary and apparently don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I own a successful chocolate company, am building a rapidly growing health and wellness brand, ride dirt bikes, and spend a lot of free time in the mountains off the grid. One evening I couldn't find anything else on Netflix to watch, and my controller said I couldn't buy any more Temu stuff, so I thought I'd try my hand at writing songs and producing music. That seems normal, right?

What began as curiosity quickly became a hobby. The hobby became a mission. The mission became an adventure. And before anyone had the good sense to intervene, I had written, produced and released five songs on streaming platforms around the world.

Apparently, I'm a singer and music producer now too.

There was no master plan. While I did play violin for several years in my youth, and DJ'd in a number of nightclubs in my 20s, I had no childhood dream of becoming a recording artist. No decades spent waiting for my big break - just me being a Karaoke rockstar in my own car.

After failing to find a studio that would actually return my calls, I decided to see what modern music technology could do. That got me asking the question that has gotten me into trouble throughout most of my life: “I wonder if I can do that?”

As it turns out, I can.

Now... whether or not I'm any good is entirely up to you to decide. Haha!

My first 5 songs range from the ridiculously upbeat Car-a-oke and the road-trip optimism of A Good Day, to Five Star View, Ghosted, and the feel-good Better With You. Different stories, different moods, but all written with one objective: make something people actually enjoy listening to.

And people are listening. Within the first week of releasing my songs, Better With You was streamed more than fifteen thousand times. In just the first few weeks I've amassed several thousand listeners and my music has been being played 10's of thousands of times all over the world.

WOW!

Which presents something of a problem.

I have learned over the years that once curiosity gets hold of me, there's really no telling where the damned thing is going to end.

So welcome to BradChurchill.com.

Come for the music. Have a few laughs — I personally like Ghosted! Stay to see what happens when a Calgary chocolatier, health-and-wellness entrepreneur, outdoor adventurer and chronic tinkerer discovers that apparently he can make songs too.

I have no clue where this is going, but I'm having fun!

In the meantime, no autographs please. Just throw money — preferably 20's, 'cause loonies and toonies hurt when they connect.

AI & MY MUSIC

So... Is My Music AI Generated?

Maybe you think my music is AI generated and that I simply said, “Hey ChatGPT/Claude/whatever, spit out a country song.”

That's NOT at all what I do.

I write the songs. The lyrics, the story, the message, the voice and the creative direction are 100% mine. I use AI as one of the tools to turn what I've written into a finished recording — just as a music or video producer uses the tools in a production studio, or a graphic artist uses Adobe or Corel to create their artwork.

I'm not hiding that. In fact, I'm pretty open about it.

I'm also open about how I ended up here.

After I wrote the songs, I contacted a number of production studios. Nobody returned my calls or emails. Rather than leave the songs sitting on a piece of paper because I couldn't get anyone interested in producing them, I found another way to bring them to life.

The songs are being commercially released through DistroKid, I'm registering my work with SOCAN, and most importantly, people are actually listening to them — and a surprising number are coming back and listening again.

I don't expect everyone to like AI being used in music. That's perfectly fair, and honestly I don't care. The creative is still mine.

I'm having an absolute blast writing songs. Thousands of people already seem to enjoy listening to them, and I'm certainly not going to stop doing something creative because someone thinks I'm using the wrong tools to do it.

If you don't like me for what I'm doing now I couldn't care less. I've spent 30 years doing things that are either ahead of the curve, or leave people scratching their heads wondering how I can do what I do.

If you don't like my music, don't listen to it.

Now I'm going to go back to having fun putting my creative talents to work in yet one more way, and not worry about whether or not you approve.

I've got this real cool idea for a love song.....
